Ready to Have Your Pet Spayed or Neutered?
Follow the steps below to prepare them prior to surgery
Step 1: Schedule an Appointment
Surgeries are performed on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays,Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30am to 5:30pm by appointment only. Please call (219) 922-3811 to schedule an appointment.
Step 2: Surgery Drop-off/Pick-up Times
Dogs may be dropped off at 8am and picked up at 4pm. Please leave your dog in the car until check-in is complete (unless dog is in a carrier). Cat drop off is at 7:30am and pick up is at 5pm. Cats must be in a secure carrier. If you do not have a cat carrier, you can purchase a cardboard carrier for $5. Feral, also known as outdoor community cats, must arrive in a humane trap.
Step 3: Requirements
Your pet must have current rabies and distemper/parvo vaccines. If not current, vaccines may be administered at the time of surgery for an additional cost. Pre-surgery bloodwork is required for pets seven years or older. If your pets are up-to-date on vaccinations please bring the records to your appointment.
Step 4: Pre-operative Instructions
- Please do not feed your pet after midnight on the night before their appointment unless they are very young. Animals under 4 months of age can have a small breakfast on the morning of surgery.
- All pets can have water up until the time of surgery.
- Please bring proof of how you qualify for our program.
- If your pet is up-to-date on vaccines, bring your vaccine records.
